Now, this isn't really about the getaway, but I wanted to say this...
Some people always say that Josh is no John, but that's because Josh has his own style of playing, which is completely different. Watch this video, Red Hot Chili Peppers – Otherside (Live at iHeartRadio Theater, 26/05/2016), or if you don't want to watch it all skip to 3.23 and watch the rest of the video. The guitar solo (however short) is incredible, and Josh's vocals at the end are 👌. I think josh is an incredible musician and deserves more respect. (BTW u need to copy and paste it into Youtube. ) the camera is also flipped for some reason.
Great Album, but some songs don't really seem very RHCP. Great great great album though. I love Goodbye Angels (one of my fav RHCP songs). Josh Is INCREDIBLE!!!!
Just got my new copy of The Getaway two-three weeks ago. My friend's son burned me a copy and I flipping WORE IT OUT!!! So in love with Go Robot!!! And I also love Dark Necessities and Goodbye Angels. I find myself singing bits and pieces of every song on this CD-couldn't love it or the Chilis more!
This CD grows in your being. For me it feels good also to listen to other music groups and CD' s. And sometimes put the Getaway in the CD- player. Then it sounds better in some way, it is more special then and also everytime more and more familiair. For me it works this way.
I completely agree. Every time I listen I enjoy the songs more and more. Not just Anthony's lyrics but the music too. The music flows through me igniting my soul, a fire to fuel me, riding waves as I go.
Just because Anthony finds himself feeling certain emotions for a song doesn't mean that someone else will feel the same. To him it's melancholy to others it's happy. That's what makes music so universal yet personal.
To come back at the subject/ song " Encore" above here.....
It is a beautiful song, calming, positive and also (for me) it sound a bit melancholic. Also makes me think about old U2 songs........
lindavdz77 today rhcp are come back in Italy for two concerts tomorrow to Rome and Friday to Milan, I'm so happy: Friday I'll see them for the fifth time in Milan!
I'm so excited for you! My BFF Dan just told me a Play Girl he knows used to date Anthony when they were very young. You never know who you'll meet. This world is a magical place.
artistsofdiversity that it would be fantastic:after Goodbye Angels, Encore is my favourite song of this album:I hope that they will make it live July 21 to Milan when I will be there!
I was very happy to hear the guys get back into the funk/punk mode. The feel of this album takes me back to the 80s when I first heard them. Rock on Funky Monkey
Now that I made the arrangements to see them at SUmmerfest in Wisconsin, The Getaway has been in even more heavy rotation on my cd pile! I have finally quit bawling when I hear The Getaway-ok the occasional tear, so much to love here. Musical interplay between Josh, Flea and Chad is just flawless. I have been happy with all the guitarists who came before Josh and all of them bought something different to the overall sound. Yet Josh's playing is wonderful and I feel that he has really done well in this band. I know some might disagree, just my not so humble opinion. Waiting on tenterhooks to see them on 6/28~!!!!!
My first comment on here!!! I have always loved the new album. As a fan since the age of 10 and someone who just turned 40, I used to want to hear the m go back to a mixture of Uplift Mofo and Blood Sugar, but why go backwards ? My favorites on this album are Go Robot, Dark Necessities, and Goodbye Angels. This morning while feeding by boys breakfast I got the album out to listen to since my wife and I are seeing them next week. While listening I really fell in love with Encore.
I got up around 11:41 THIS MORNING, A BIT EARLY BY MY (OOPS, NOT YELLING just a complete pinhead with the cap lock) slacker standards, anyway turned on Flagler College Radio, 88.5 and they are on I heart radio, where DJ Glynn, my favorite played The Getaway-perfect wake up with my perfect song/band! Just made me want to hear more, so I flipped in the CD and went straight to heaven. Cleaned ceiling fans and A/C vents and sweated and danced on a ladder. Love this disc more with every time I hear it...a maturity in the music and lyrics that seems perfectly matched with Danger Mouse's production style. Could not love Go Robot much more! It just makes me wanna get up and shake things!!! No "fat" on this disc, all meat and gravy!
And it' s also how the numbers are following up at the album. It' s so nice to hear the first notes / tones from goodbye angels after listening to other songs. It' s a unity.
I'm 30 now, I have been listening to RHCP ever since I can remember and they keep producing new stuff that I keep liking. And I see these teens loving RHCP the way I do and it amazes me that such different generations can love the same band in the same way. RHCP you're awesome.
I love this album. I love how some of my family was, they say "RHCP are OK or RHCP are not my taste in music". Then I got the new album and had it playing, after it was half over and they had been bobbing their heads the whole time, I asked" so do you like the music?" "They said "ya Iike it" I told them "This is the new Chili's Album". They look at me like what? I wish I had a picture of my dads face, It was great. I'm slowly turning them in to chili fans.
I agree with you lindavdz77:Goodbye Angels is wonderful, the best song of this album:me too I heard two times Goodbye Angels at the double date of Turin and it has been great:this album is really nice:I listen every day!
For me Goodbye Angels is a magical song. I heard it several times live, when I was at the concert in Amsterdam and when I listened to the shows at youtube. It looks to me the song is also special for the band ;-)
Now listening to the whole album since may/ june 2016 I can say that it' s so multifunctional. Dancing, listening in bath.........
The only thing I can't do with all the RHCP music is reading a book..............
Because I always want to listen to the words of the songs and sometimes sing along.........
So last week I finally got my copy of The Getaway and I have to say that musically I FUGGIN LOVE IT ALL!!!!!! WHo cares if the lyrics can be a little silly, and hey, isn't that what I have always loved about this band anyhow? I am finally able to listen to the title track without crying, always good cause its hard to dance and cry at the same time, right? I am deeply touched by Feasting on the Flowers and Goodbye Angels, however, I absolutely LOVE LOVE LOVE Go Robot for its dancability, The Getaway for its soulfulness, Sick Love because it just has such a great vibe, and Dark Necessities because I have two young women who skateboard all over where I live on Sundays and they remind me of the song (plus, 40 years ago I could have been one of the girls in the video). All I can say is after being a fan for more than 30 years I remain a fan! Love these guys and love this cd!!!
At first, I didn't realy like it because it wasn't what I was expecting. After listening to it several times I just started to love it. I think the album is realy funcky and it's like they are in the old times, having fun. About the songs, Feasting On The Flowers is one of the most beautiful songs I've ever heard, it makes me so emotional I just can't stop loving it.
I just love the bass line and drums in Dark Necessities. Such a tight confluence of sound. Add Josh's guitar riffs and it is a just a perfectly woven cloth of music. Anthony's singing is just the end.
OMMFG...Heard The Getaway on the Flagler College radio station (I live in St. Augustine, FL, possibly the most beautiful city in the USA) and was transmogrified (in the best possible way). From the first few bars, I recognized Keidis' voice and started to weep-not full-on sobbing, just so haunting and beautiful I fuggin cried. Wish I could run out and get the CD NOW (61, live on Social Security check and am broke till February check comes)-and the ticket to Jax show...still just a dream-haven't enjoyed them live since living in MN in 2007. Anyway, cannot say which tune I love best-I Robot is a hoot and wonderful, Sick Love is great-cannot wait to get my check and buy the damn CD-love everything I have heard so far. Really looking forward to seeing them in April...
Finally my copy arrived courtesy of my friend in Philly, whose kid was kind enough to burn me one. Every time I LISTEN I love it more!!!Getaway still moves me to tears, Look Around, Go Robot, Turn Me Red among my favorites. Need to listen another dozen times before I can really know what I like best, but an amazing cd from a band I have loved and listened to and seen live for more than half my life;. OH, and as far as the "change" in their sound, I am so not hearing it, other than a real maturity in the lyrics and stellar bassmanship from my boy Mr. Flea. I always know their music by the bass and by Anthony's voice when the lyrics fly...A MOTHAFUCKING MASTERPIECE!
I love all things RHCP! This album is pure sublime. I have listen to this album nonstop in the car, work and home. I have never been so happy as to have new music from RHCP. The funk in this album is on point and shows how they can stay relevant. I can not wait to see them live and hear songs from the Getaway.. The one song that I can hit repeat on and never get tired of is the Longest Wave. To me this shows off the softer side of Anthony's voice and you can just hear how beautiful of a voice he has. I really hope by the time they get to Arkansas this will be on their setlist for the concert.
Not their best album, but it has new flavors which is what they searched for. They want to have fun and enjoy themselves, that's why their shows have so much energy. It's genuine. The musical content isn't their best, but it's seeing Josh really contribute and a Frusciante-esque funk that hasn't been seen for some time. Although slightly over-produced, it delivers exactly what the guys intended...fresh. The album itself is going to cement a few new singles into their hit repertoire, song like Dark Necessities, Sick Love, and Go Robot. Overall not their best, but it's leading to a great build-up with Josh and it's a fantastic listen. Everyone love's something new.
I love The Getaway! It has really helped me figure myself out. I've finally found my flow and letting it take me where I need to go. Compass points West toward acceptance and love. Just be your best. Fact! Tigers eat Doves. I wouldn't be the person I am today if I didn't have such a dark past. It's true that light can only shine in the dark. I am moving away from my mom and dad to find the love I've never had. Time for me to start riding the wave. Music is the great communicator and I feel lucky to have the Chili Peppers to help me out on my journey!
I live in Trondheim, Norway and travelled to Oslo with my dad to see my favourite band perform their new album The Getaway. The concert did not get good reviews in the local newspapers, and I was quite surprised. Other than the tall drunk people in front of me I had a great time- I was thrilled just to be there, to see the band I had listened to since forever seemed unreal. I could sing along to all the songs and the improvised guitar solos etc I thought were a cherry on top as opposed to what the newspaper reviews said, that it was too "showy" but my opinion is, if you have as much talent as these boys, don't hold back!
Well, the record is OK, but I have hoped for something different. I'm in love with "I'm with You", especially due to the fresh, variable sound, that Josh brought to the band. I was waiting for a new page in RHCP history, a show of JK skill, and in that regard "The Getaway" was disappointment. It's a set of good songs, no doubt, but I have the feeling that we're back in "Stadium Arcadium".
The Getaway is a great album and as all new releases I feel the the band extends its branches out a little more. i do however have to say I'm missing Anthony's rap inserts!! I've been a fan for over 25 years and am never disappointed in the new releases. You stay true to your sound but are always maturing in your music.. You have influenced both my Husband and daughter to take up drumming (thanks Chad, UR Awsome!) We just need you to come and do a proper tour in Australia...PLEASE PLEASE my daughter now 14 is dying to see you guys (as so am I) she now claims to be a bigger fan than me!! I doubt it.. Thanks, your music takes me away to a place where I can forget for a short time all of our problems in our life and the world..
Just came back from Barcelona and you were rocking it as always!! Love the new album, love all the songs! The last song I played befor the plane landed was Samurai...thinking if we fall ...the last song I ever heard was a masterpiece. Glad we made it though, so I can come see you in november in my own country!
I gotta say I love it! I can't help but be one of those fans that just loves what they create and I am incredibly proud of all of them. Even though I've seen an incredible amount of comments about them not sounding the same and it's not the same without John, I still appreciate them as a band and sticking together through the tough times and changes. Also very proud of Josh for joining and contributing his wonderful style and talent.
The first few listens, I enjoyed it, but was worried it would be on the level of "I'm With You," which is their most forgettable album for me. But it's just astonishing on how much it's grown and grown and grown on me the past couple of months. I love this album. What a return to greatness for the band, all around. My "least" favorite song is The Longest Wave, and that's still enjoyable to listen to. The lead songs and singles are terrific, 'Goodbye Angels' is insanely ridiculous and the best song on there, 'Encore' is fucking gorgeous, 'Dreams of a Samurai' is wonderful, etc etc etc. Such a complete piece of work. 8.75/10.
This album is definitely a favorite. You can't really say any song that they make is ever "bad", even if it's not the best. It's a lot more than any of us can come up with, and their sound will always be iconic. Coming back from the last album has to be tough, as it's definitely not their best material with the exception of a couple songs. This album has the sound of the past albums, and the beats that make you want to rock and repeat. I've thrown many songs from Getaway on my playlist with old RHCP songs, and they all flow together without being able to tell a strong distinction between the album sound, other than if you knew which album had which songs. 10/10 for songs & comeback. Can't wait for the tour.
To be honest, my first listen underwhelmed me. Now, I seriously can't get enough of it. Not a song on it I don't like. Special mentions to Dark Necessities, Go Robot, Goodbye Angels and The Longest Wave.
The Getaway is one of my favorite Chili Peppers records. Danger Mouse did an excellent job with producing the album. I just bought the CD yesterday. My favorite song is Dark Necessities. It brings me to a special place when I listen to the song. The Hunter is also a beautiful piece of music. I can't wait for when the band tours in the U.S.!
I love it more the more I listen to it. I haven't had the chance to just sit, listen, and appreciate like I'd like to, but I always listen to it while I'm getting ready in the mornings. Favorite tracks so far are The Getaway, Goodbye Angels, Go Robot, and Feasting on the Flowers.
LOVE the album!! Its funny how when a new album comes out it makes you drag out the old albums again and relisten to all the songs again! The Getaway is a super album and the Chilis are maturing brilliantly. I love Encore and We Turn Red. So proud of my band.
My favourite is Goodbye Angels. Then Sick Love. But it depends on the moment. Its a fine cd. No need to compare it to other cd' s. Why compare appels with pears ? ( my grandmother always said- Its a dutch saying)
Its very nice that the RHCP has so much different influences. Now the music is very multifunctional. It motivates me also to pick up my other music cd 's (world music, it also matches before listening to funky goatrance with also world music influences. Listening to I' m with you,you can also hear the African influences. For me it matches) . You never get bored. That gives energy!
#RedHotChiliPeppers once again you have made a lonely girl less lonely in this mix up world of pride and lust you have nailed a perfect mix of words and perfect music that flows. When are you coming back to the land down under :))? If only life was a song it would be so much easier to explain :( so dont ever change !!!!!Ôªø Simply Getaway is an ideal mix of history, life, pain ,love, fear ......................................................once again well done
After 5 years of waiting, the new era of Peppers is here and I'm happy to say I've been loving it. The new sound is different than anything they've ever done, yet it still manages to sound like Peppers. I love how they can fit into so many different genres of music and still be recognised as this original, amazing band that they have been for so long. My favorites at the moment are Feasting on the flowers, Encore and This Ticonderoga.
After 50 days listening the new album without stopping, i can say that I confirm my first impression: I love it! And I love it vey much!!! My favorite songs are, in the order: Feasting on the flowers, Encore, We turn red, Dreams of a samurai, the longest wave, dark necessities, the gateway. My seven years old son loves Go robot!
No one thinks that dreams of a samurai has been written by Anthony for Scott Weiland dead?
The Longest Wave is perfection! Love also Go Robot, Sick Love, Feasting On The Flowers. And my 2,5 year old son loves and sings Dark Necessities and he doesn't speak English! ‚ù§
once again these guys just nail it, man... lost for words, every album is just such a piece of art man, like, i didn't grown up on the chills born in 83, but they grew on me to the point where it's all i listen too, the discography, boys u made a difference in my world, best music, unreal lyrics A, yeah, killing it, nice work!! inspiration, beautiful album is my review, see ya in montreal boys, first time seeing u guys, pretty much only reason i'm going! yeah! so stoked!!!
Been a fan for nearly 30 years and back then I had a 1 track mind when it came to music. Hardcore punk was what mattered then I saw Fight like a brave on late night tv and was absolutely hooked. The peppers changed my life. I got into listening to all kinds of music since then but my heart belongs to the Chilis ,they put their hearts and souls into everything they do. I along with nearly every John Frusciante fan kinda died when the news broke that he had left the band again. I'm with you was a good effort but poor Josh had some pretty big shoes to fill and didn't quite get there. A few months ago I was debating that it might be a good thing if they "retired"but I am so glad they did'nt. The Getaway is the best thing since Californication in my opinion. Every song makes me soo happy. All their styles in one place. Truly beautiful. The Peppers have gotten older but still make great music so why stop? Sorry I lost my faith guys, but you have restored it. Favourite tracks are all of them but Encore is my favourite all time song ever!! Much love always.
Great story. John Frusciante is a guitar legend! In my opinion the best guitarist of the 90's and 2000's. I think the band will make music until they physically can't anymore. Did you know that Josh has featured in a few of John's solo songs?
I must admit I didn't quite got into it the first time I listened to the album. But it will definitely become an acquired taste for me. So far i'm loving We turn red.
Goodbye Angels!!! awesome song!! Also love Go Robot!! Try listening to go robot and sing Factory of Faith to the music. Its almost the same signature. Its a better version of Factory of Faith. Encore is my 3rd best song, best melody. This Album is a masterpiece. I love it. If this album was released in 1995, it would be number 1 for months. Unfortunately Flea is right. Rock is dead, and this is not getting the recognition it deserves.
Goodbye Angels resonates with me to the extreme. It is in a loop in my head non stop. I absolutely LOVE it, and at the same time I get emotional when i listen to it.
Any one of the Chilis can spank me at ANY TIME. I keep my 61-year-old ass well-toned for a reason...just sayin' As long as I can spank back, cause Mama likes to play rough!
Let me preface by saying that I absolutely love the new album and I still haven't stopped listening to it. I have written an article of sorts about the most ridiculous lyrics of Anthony's on the album. Know that this was written with nothing but the utmost love and respect for the band and Anthony Kiedis, and was not meant to be ugly or malicious in any way, shape, or form. Feedback is more than welcome. Enjoy!
The Most Ridiculous Lyrics from “The Getaway”
Longtime Red Hot Chili Peppers frontman Anthony Kiedis to lean on nonsensical lyrics is well documented, and while it might not get any more nonsensical than 1993’s “Soul To Squeeze” when Anthony, with all the sincerity in the world, spouted “doo doo doo doo ding a zingle dong bone ba-di ba-da ba-zumba crunga cong gone bad”, Mr. Kiedis is still dropping plenty of questionable quotables 33 years into his tenure with the legendary funk-punk outfit. What follows is a track-by-track examination of what this writer feels are the most ridiculous lyrics from the Peppers’ latest studio offering, the Dangermouse infused “The Getaway”.
1. The Getaway
The album opens with the title track, which quite possibly carries more of Dangermouse’s influence than any song on the record. The very first lyrics are the most and only pointless lyrics of the song. “That’s right, you’re right, we will do our think tonight, alright.” This just comes off as lazy writing. A legendary frontman with 30 plus years of experience should have more to offer than this.
2. Dark Necessities
Absolutely solid lyrically with lines like “Pick you up like a paperback with the track record of a maniac.” Even the “ice cream for an astronaut” bit carries a sort of strange purposefulness.
3. We Turn Red
Opening with Bonham-esque drums, track three quickly dives into a riff almost reminiscent of Alan Jackson’s “Chattahoochee”. Anthony provides some of his most effective and political lyrics, but not before bestowing us with the nonsense of “We got large and we got small, we got a swimming pool and a cannonball.”
4. The Longest Wave
An earnest and delicate love song with a chorus that is everything you want it to be. Solid.
5. Goodbye Angels
A solemn track about the suicide of a friend, the majority of “Goodbye Angels’” lyrics come from a deep and meaningful place, but we also get “Welcome to the party it’s a ball game. Pick up the stick, it’s time to get hit with ayo ayo ayo ayo my bat.”
6. Sick Love
The boys steer into the skid here after they accidentally lift an Elton John vocal melody. Here we are treated to a big, fantastic, synth-filled chorus. Solid.
7. Go Robot
“Go Robot” is absurd by its very nature, so some leeway can be given. But “I want to thank you and spank you upon your silver skin” is where I draw the line.
8. Feasting On The Flowers
Anthony’s best attempt at channeling the death of original RHCP guitarist Hillel Slovak. This is successful on all fronts with Josh adding a touch of Beatle psychedelia on guitar.
9. Detroit
Nearly every lyric in this disaster of a song can fall into the most-ridiculous-lyrics-of-the-album category. Everything following “Find me in the suburbs and the shadows of decay” is cringe-worthy.
10. This Ticonderoga
This track, while a personal favorite of mine, is chock-full of some of the most absurd lyrics in the RHCP catalogue. It’s as if for every powerful lyrics in this song there is one pointless, out of place examination of nothing. First we have “I call my best friend Flea”. A man in his 50s should not be singing about having a best friend. It also stands as the most unrelatable element in a song about the very accessible subject of the battles that we all face in this life. Next: “Can I scratch your back all day?”. What? Next: I must report that life is short, so of your love, I’ll take ten quarts.” While it is a nice sentiment about seizing the day and falling in love, it is a lazy attempt at making words rhyme. Anthony’s attempts at this can occasional come across as endearing. This is not one of those times. Finally, we have “You and you will not repent for sitting on my elephant.” One writer described Keidis’ writing style as (and I’m paraphrasing here) “throwing darts at a thesaurus.” This is one of those instances. The lyric means nothing and takes away from the powerful feel of the song. Solid.
11. Encore
The melody is the real topic of conversation in this song, but there are a couple of gems in here. Highlights include “Say goodbye to mom and dad to find the love you never had.” Solid.
12. The Hunter
A wacky song about staring mortality in the face complete with a nice Hemingway reference. Solid.
13. Dreams of a Samurai
While the whole samurai metaphor is questionable, we get some solemn, personal verses here as well as one of the Chili’s best choruses wi
We Turn Red I like is a reference to the Peppers getting older. They went from Red Hot Chili Peppers to Green Mild Chili Peppers. The band became very large but I think their circle of friends & family became smaller.
As for Go Robot the silver skin is a membrane attached to the muscle. It's just a metaphor for smacking ass. Brilliant in my opinion.
I have to admit, this album wasn't was I was expecting, but....I love it!!! I love getting back to the funky stuff and they truly sound like they are enjoying this album!
The new album is amazing! I bought tickets to both of your shows in Finland and i got two codes. I used one code to get the CD and the other code to download them to my computer. My favourite songs on the album are "Feasting on the Flowers" and "Sick Love". Also the lyrics on all of the songs are very interesting. Keep up the good work Chilis!
The new album is amazing!!! I have been listening to it daily since I downloaded it June 18. My favorite songs are "Sick Love" and "Feasting on the Flowers."
I love this album. Favourite songs so far are Go Robot, Encore, and Dreams of a Samurai. Also, The Hunter is the first song that has ever made me cry like a baby. AK's vocal on that track is sublime.
I love the new album but was a little disappointed at the fact that I bought it on vinyl, as I do with a lot of new music if it is an option, but it didn't come with a digital download. I love to listen everywhere so the digital download is great I just don't want to pay for the vinyl and then pay for the download. I'm not opposed to supporting the artist, vinyl is just expensive.
Since its release, eight days ago, I've been listening to it all the time. At first, I was very surprised by te new style and generally overwhelmed by the new funky tunes as well as the well-known melancholic, soft elements that the Chillies have in their repertoire. Even though we had to wait five years for the next album, we weren't disappointed, and never ever have been, by our most favourite band. I bought the album because I knew it would be something refreshing, because Anthony, Flea and Chad already told us that Josh is coming out with his guitar-parts. All songs are really great, some of them deserve a little bitmore focus and attention at first, because they don't tend to be "decoded" during the first listening, like for example "Detroit" or "This Ticonderoga", which do remind me a lot of "Goodbye Hooray" when I think about it.
I'm also reading a lot of reviews about the album, professional as well as from buyers on Amazon. I still can't understand people who try to dictate the new music that's coming out by saying that Red Hot Chili Peppers should return to their roots, so that the new album should sound like Blood Sugar Sex Magik, Californication or By The Way... why making a copy of an old album? I think their music is evolving in a natural way, very nicely and we as fans are thankful that we still get surprised by new ways of music.
I'm quite sure that the Red Hot Chili Peppers will release many B-Sides from this album, hopefully as many as from their I'm With You-album :)
Enjoy the album and let's hope that the guys stay with us and keep making music for a long, long time to come!
I love it they just keep putting out incredible music
My favorite is dreams of a samurai
Just got my new copy of The Getaway two-three weeks ago. My friend's son burned me a copy and I flipping WORE IT OUT!!! So in love with Go Robot!!! And I also love Dark Necessities and Goodbye Angels. I find myself singing bits and pieces of every song on this CD-couldn't love it or the Chilis more!
guys rhcp is a great group:I love all their album!
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
En fact the emotions are personal Man_to _the_Dre_to_the_double_L_hey!
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Lindavdz77 Anthony has said that Encore is a melancholic song!
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The line
walk away from mom & dad to find the love you never had. Tell no lies.
Is what made me decide to move from the Prairies to the West Coast
My fifth live: it was just wonderful, a special thanks goes to Anthony with her final greeting THANK YOU MILAN IN ITALIAN: I LOVE YOU MY IDOL!
My hope is to be able to see them abroad too!

Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
artistsofdiversity that it would be fantastic:after Goodbye Angels, Encore is my favourite song of this album:I hope that they will make it live July 21 to Milan when I will be there!
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Only a week Rosy !!!
Just that I would like to hear them play the song "Encore" more at live shows...
I was very happy to hear the guys get back into the funk/punk mode. The feel of this album takes me back to the 80s when I first heard them. Rock on Funky Monkey
I disagree... it's more of a mellow progression into a few uncharted territories...
Fantastic samanthashine515:have fun in Milwaukee!
I agree with your thought:Josh is a great guitarist!
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Finally you made it Samantha ! Enjoy !
Welcome in this community rbroshear:Encore is a wonderful song!
Have fun next week:where will you go to see them??????
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
The Getaway is a great album!
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Don't like it. So I don't listen. Are you playing with us?
The whole live is a play.............
What do you miss in the music ?
Welcome in this community rcastillo8:have fun March 21 in San Diego!
Goodbye Angels is the best song of this album!
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
And it' s also how the numbers are following up at the album. It' s so nice to hear the first notes / tones from goodbye angels after listening to other songs. It' s a unity.
Great Drop! San Diego 3/21 and its on ! ! ! Last Cali Concert '
Cant wait! Floor E
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
When I first heard Dark Necessities I wasn't sure myself but then I listened to it again & meow this is one of my favorite songs.
The new album is awesome. Thank you for all the wonderful music.
It's life saving
The new album is great, i'm listening to it every day! My favourite song is Goodbye Angels. Pure perfection!
Goodbye Angels is masterpiece. To me, album sounds like Californication. Peppers are back!
The entire album is awesome. It helped get me from one home to the next across Canada.
My fav ... The Hunter ... aka The old man in the sea ... love it in many ways.
The Longest Wave is perfection! Love also Go Robot, Sick Love, Feasting On The Flowers. And my 2,5 year old son loves and sings Dark Necessities and he doesn't speak English! ‚ù§
Great record! I haven't picked a favorite track yet but the title track is a strong opener. I love the vibe of the album.
once again these guys just nail it, man... lost for words, every album is just such a piece of art man, like, i didn't grown up on the chills born in 83, but they grew on me to the point where it's all i listen too, the discography, boys u made a difference in my world, best music, unreal lyrics A, yeah, killing it, nice work!! inspiration, beautiful album is my review, see ya in montreal boys, first time seeing u guys, pretty much only reason i'm going! yeah! so stoked!!!
This is a great album:my favourites songs are Goodbye Angels, Encore, the Hunter, Sick Love and the Longest Wave:I love it!
Hello Rosy82!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I absolutely LOVE it, and at the same time I get emotional when i listen to it.
i turn red.
"I want to thank you and spank you upon your silver skin" is the best line of Go Robot. What ya talking about?
Great review!
I have to admit, this album wasn't was I was expecting, but....I love it!!! I love getting back to the funky stuff and they truly sound like they are enjoying this album!
The best song in the album are Dark Necessities and Feasting on the Flowers (which is about Hillel Slovak).
This site rocks :D
Goodbye Angels. Wow.
AK's vocal on that track is sublime.
to true
Can you believe Consequence of Sound ranked this as RHCP's worst song?!? (out of every song they've ever put out) Ridiculous.
http://consequenceofsound.net/2016/06/every-red-hot-chili-peppers-song-from-worst-to-best/
That article is shocking!
I love the album! Sick Love
Is amazing and Dark Necessities was a great choice for the first single!
I really like the lyrics Anthony came up with for this album. Overall I'm really enjoying the album.
the getaway moi bien xoca dark nessities moi bien xoca geatest hits very good music worth it
I love the new album but was a little disappointed at the fact that I bought it on vinyl, as I do with a lot of new music if it is an option, but it didn't come with a digital download. I love to listen everywhere so the digital download is great I just don't want to pay for the vinyl and then pay for the download. I'm not opposed to supporting the artist, vinyl is just expensive.
obsessed!! Love the whole album. Can't stop playing it!
I feel exactly the same. I can hear it over and over following the storyline and enjoy the change in the music.
XD CANT STOP playing it goood one
‚ù§
I really love the new sound from the album. My favourite songs so far are Goodbye Angels and Detroit, although all the songs are great!!
The new style and sound is great . I love Danger Mouse so much , great album . Love it so much !!!
Best regards,
Deni
Tout a fait d accord..c est évolution musicale et non une non-alchimie "comme certains disent" avec Josh ...
Love the new album. Favorite song is between Sick Love and Goodbye Angels.
I agree. The Getaway is a great album. I really like the Dark Necessities video ... cool footage that works nicely with the music and lyrics ! :)
