Hi, My name is Lennon and I’m 13.
Most people rule me out and laugh in my face when they hear that I’m a Red Hot Chili Pepper’s fan. “You’re too young,” and things like “What a loser. She is a poser trying to be all hipster and cool. But she’s a f*g!” People bully me for many reasons. This band, including Nirvana, has impacted the condition of my life, changing the way I see the world. I no longer see the world as a cruel, sad place to live, but rather a world full of new things and two roads. The trouble, (but well worth it) road, and the road of success. I have traveled both, and hope to discover many more as I continue to live.
Red Hot Chili Peppers first caught my eye back in about 2006, when I was about, eh, 6 or 7-ish. I was playing around on youtube, (which was forbidden in our house) and searching through the popular. I saw a freaky looking man with makeup on and decided to click on the music video for “Dani California.” The music video was such an eye opener. I watched it about a hundred-thousand times before it stopped scaring me.
Years later, I had stumbled upon it again..
and since then…
I have never been so deeply attracted to a band before.
