Days after my fifteenth birthday, I had planned my suicide. Then, I picked up Scar Tissue by Anthony Kiedis and started reading it. I thought it was the most interesting and amazing first chapter of a book I had ever read. So I then looked into the music of the Red Hot Chili Peppers. Now, I was always a fan of them but had only really heard the songs that got on the radio like Californication, Can’t Stop, The Zephyr Song, etc. I never even knew the lyrics to them. I thought The Zephyr Song was ‘Fly away on my cellphone!’. So anyway, I looked into their first three albums and I was amazed. I listened to all their music and by the time I was finished it was the next day, I was amazed and overflown with happiness. I read the lyrics and cried that I finally had something that understood my horrible, mentally-fucked up, lonely life. The Red Hot Chili Peppers gave me something to live for and are ’til this day, all I live for. I would kill just to touch one of their hands or stroke their hair. I would do anything and everything for the Red Hot Chili Pepper, forever and always! Thank you for saving my life.
